Hard questions drive better outcome

Hard questions drive better outcome

"Which way should I go?"
"That depends on where you are going."
"I don't know."
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go."
At times, we do not know what are we doing or why are we doing. We even do not try to find answers.
Socrates said many centuries back "The unexamined life is not worth living."
Questions are important. Harder the question the better it is.
Voltaire said “Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers.” The hard questions expose our lies and bring out the truth. Asking hard questions to self is uncomfortable.
We do not want to confront hard questions as our illusory world is very comfortable. We need to kick ourselves out of the comfort zone and face the truth.
We need to ask ourselves hard questions and answer objectively. We should be honest with ourselves and view the answers critically. This will help us understand the life we are living and will help answer some of the following questions,
• Where I am today.
• Am I moving in the right direction?
• Do I need to correct anything now, before it is too late?
• Where do I see myself in next few years?
• Is this the life I want?
• How do I plan to measure my progress?
The purpose of asking these questions to ourselves is to become uncomfortable in this process of self examination and discover the answers to propel us to take right actions to realize our full potential and achieve our dreams.
"We make our world significant by the courage of our questions and by the depth of our answers.” said Carl Sagan
We need to ask tough questions and fine tune our actions to do self correction, before life throws us on undesired path or it is too late.
Best things do not come easily. We need to do a reality check on regular basis and be prepared to be uncomfortable to ensure corrective action. Hard questions lead to better answers, which propel us take actions for a better outcome. We have collected some questions under the section "Life Quest" for you to examine.
• What is my personal Moonshot?
• How will I measure my life?
• What am I most passionate about?
• What do I want my epitaph to be?
• What is Success?
• What do I stand for?
• What new skills and strengths am I learning?
• What is holding me back?
• What baby steps I have taken so far?
These questions need to be soul searched. We need to be honest while answering these questions to ourselves to discover the gap to align the actions.
These questions have no right or wrong answers as the attempt of asking the right question is an answer in a way. An honest and truthful attempt to face these questions is itself a courageous step.
It is OK, if you do not have any or some answers. Your effort itself is in the right direction and you took this step as this is about you.
