Car headlight bulbs need a change

You are taking your family, for a dinner.
When you start your car, you notice that the headlights are not working . Last night, when you had parked the car, the lights were functioning well.
You wonder, what has gone wrong now?
You call the car mechanic. After checking, the mechanic informs you that you will need to change both the bulbs.
How can both the bulbs blow out at the same time? What do you think?
